Sport, as a television genre, has always lived around appointments and events. “Direct coverage of a competitive event” was the definition that Rai originally gave to its broadcasts of sports competitions. Obviously, like all events, and perhaps more than all others, sporting events include a before and an after, an area of ​​preparation and waiting and an area of ​​commentary and analysis which have expanded extremely in modern television. But for a few seasons there has been a newspaper that has developed its story of sport to the extreme, following what is happening, what is about to happen, what has happened in the sporting universe, continuously for twenty-four hours every day of the week. It's called Sky Sport 24. During the meeting with the journalists and presenters of this station they explain how the schedule is organised, how the news is found and how it is given a television form.

Giorgio Simonelli is a professor of radio and television journalism at the Catholic University of Milan where he also teaches history of radio and television and scientific director of the Master's degree in analysis and planning of television products. He has written about cinema and television for newspapers and magazines and is the author of volumes on film directors and on various aspects of television communication. The latest, Reti e parables, written with Darwin Pastorin and published by Mursia, traces a history of the television representation of sport. Since 2001 he has been a consultant and commentator on the Rai Educational programme, TV Talk.

Eleonora Cottarelli, a professional journalist, has covered the 2007 Rugby World Cup and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics as a correspondent for Sky Sport since 2007, as well as the main volleyball events. Since 2008 he has been one of the leading faces of Sky Sport 24, the first all-news sports network in Italy.

Davide Camicioli, a professional journalist since 2003, began his career in print at a very young age before arriving in the world of television as a correspondent on local TV. Since 2008 he has been one of the faces of Sky Sport 24.

Davide Bucco, a professional journalist, began his career in the printed press since 2007, first at Il Giornale di Sardegna then at Il Mattino di Napoli. Author of sports programs in the world of local TV, he has been at the Central Office of Sky Sport 24 since 2008.
