Nient’altro che uno smarrirsi sulla strada di casa - Incontro con Daniele De Lonti e Bepp e Sebaste

Photographer Daniele De Lonti and writer Beppe Sebaste owe much of their training to that collective melting pot of experiences and ideas that were being worked out at ‘Casa Ghirri’. The former was Luigi Ghirri's assistant, and to do so he moved from Milan to the province of Reggio Emilia, the latter returned from Geneva to Parma to take part in the first joint project for photographers and writers to read the territory (Esplorazioni sulla via Emilia, Feltrinelli 1986), which others followed. For both of them, nomads and restless, their friend Luigi Ghirri, who died twenty years ago, was a master: of looking, of living, of the awareness of being in the world. Whether and to what extent this is still possible is the theme of the encounter, the title of which takes up a phrase from Samuel Beckett's Murphy. The dialogue between De Lonti and Sebaste that began in those years will continue in a project in and on the territory north of Lake Garda.
