Jukebox all'Idrogeno

Sound Paths by Glass

An hour to look at the music of our time and its stars, its dreams, starting from the artist's original fascination with Eastern music and the original minimalist scene up to the very wide range of his proposals today. We will talk about the last forty years of music, from the avant-garde utopias of the Sixties to the master technology of our time, with particular attention to the numerous intersections with the rock scene and the impetuous language of the Beat Generation. The title naturally recalls Ginsberg and his visions but it should also be taken in a literal sense: the music, the music of Philip Glass's life are a gigantic, resonant, passionate jukebox.

Riccardo Bertoncelli

Born in Novara "on the strings of Aries" in 1952, he discovered rock around the age of 13, soon starting to get a craving for it. At 17 he founded his first fanzine, at 21 he wrote the first Italian history of rock (Pop Story, Arcana). In 1974 he was part of the founding nucleus of Gong, the most important rock magazine of those years; six years later, after many things had changed, he tried again with Musica 80. In 1981 he debuted as series director for Arcana, of which he became editorial director in 1985. Since 1995 he has curated the musical area "Bizarre" within the Giunti group. He has edited over 250 volumes on rock and various humanities, starting with a Treccanica-sized Rock Encyclopedia. Among his most cherished works are an anthology of 30 years of rock and beyond (Paesaggi immaginari), the official biography of Ligabue (Vivere a orecchio) and a book-tribute to Fabrizio De André (Belin, sei sicuro?).

Between 1996 and 1998 he was the artistic director of the Salone della Musica in Turin. He has been writing for Linus for 27 years, from the first issue on Musica! of La Repubblica (now XL), and collaborates with Il Mucchio Selvaggio, Audio and Extra. He teaches a course in History of Music Publishing at the Master in Musical Communication for Discography and the Media at the Catholic University of Milan.
