The Blacksmith, the Glass and the Energy
A dialogue between Patti Smith and Frankie HI-NRG, a reflection in search of ghosts to analyze. Three working principles, the Anvil, the Fire and the Transparency, so different but also capable of going in the same direction, will be compared.
Music will be the dominant theme of the conversation between these artists who, during their experience, have followed unique and original paths to express their dissent through artistic creation. We will witness an important drift from the real world.
But there will also be incursions into other arts, such as poetry - and therefore references to Allen Ginsberg will be inevitable - and reflections on society and politics. An interference on the eclectic line with unpredictable outcomes.
“I will bring some tennis balls to stimulate it”: this is the promise of Frankie HI-NRG, convinced that the dialogue will continue through derailments, deviations, without a pre-definable and pre-defined track.
Frankie HI-NRG
Born in Turin in 1969, Frankie HI-NRG is a rapper, author and composer. In 1991 he released his first single Fight da Faida, which was awarded by the editorial staff of Musica e Dischi. The publication of his first album, Verba Manent, in 1993 marked the beginning of a national tour that lasted a year and a half. His second album, La morte dei miracoli, was released in 1997: the collection also contains the song Quelli che benpensano, which won the Premio Italiano della Musica (PIM) as song of the year. In addition to his writing activity, Frankie HI-NRG also dedicates himself to making video clips for Italian musical groups and singers. During 2004 he hosted the TV show BrandNew on MTV for a few months and held a TV criticism column in the monthly magazine Rockstar for a year. In 2005 he debuted the show Rap©ital, linked to the album of the same name and taken on tour for eight months.
Patti Smith
Rock poet par excellence, Patti Smith made her debut on the music scene in the early Seventies. In 1975, her debut album Horses made history thanks to an engaging creative tension. Other successful albums and songs followed, in collaboration with artists such as Bruce Springsteen. After a brief break from music for family reasons, in 1995 Patti Smith returned to the scene with Gone Again, one of the most intense and scathing collections. In addition to music, the American artist explores many other artistic disciplines, such as poetry, painting and photography.
