Philippe Kratz
Philippe Kratz offers a workshop that aims to approach the idea of play: a continuous manifestation and dissolution trying to shape time and connect to the surrounding space. Starting with his creation Open Drift, the choreographer will invite participants to focus on the search for a movement that apparently slips and fluctuates but at the same time does not lose its formal concreteness.
German-born choreographer and dancer. At a young age, he worked as a performer in Bühnenkunst, a project of the Suheyla Ferwer Tanztheater. He trained as a dancer at the École Supérieure de danse du Québec in Montreal and later at the Staatliche Ballettschule. He joined Xin Peng Wang's Ballett Dortmund and in 2008 joined Aterballetto in Reggio Emilia. He has received several international awards and in 2020 was awarded Choreographer of the Year by Danza&Danza magazine.
The level of the workshop is advanced and is therefore recommended for those who already have a good foundation in contemporary dance.
It will be held in English.
