On the Silk Road: Traveling Along the Ancient Caravan Routes of Asia

David Bellatalla

David Bellatalla, anthropologist.

Not only silk, precious stones, spices, and papal missives, but above all technological innovations, philosophical speculations, beliefs, and religious concepts. The Silk Road has been, for centuries, an irreplaceable element for the aggregation and development of the different ethnic realities of the Eurasian continent and still constitutes a priority element for better understanding and rediscovering “the cultural diversities of others” as an indispensable necessity for peaceful coexistence among peoples. David Bellatalla retraces two years of travel through 18 countries, covering over 15,000 kilometers on foot, by camel, horseback, train, and truck, in a fascinating journey to rediscover the great pulsating vein of the Eurasian continent.

Event in collaboration with Montura Editing.
