Cristiana Morganti's workshop gives equal importance to the work on movement and to the concept of the scenic act as an expressive unit, whose instrument is the body and its "presence". She believes that contemporary dancers should discover their own voice and theatrical skills, in order to unlock their full potential.
The workshop will be daily divided into two phases.
The first phase consists in a very dynamic warm-up and a technical part, which is based on the study of Rudolf von Laban's principles. The participants will work on different qualities of movement. Particular attention will be given to the aspects of breathing, legato and unbalance, emphasizing the experience of softness in movement. The aim is to encourage the participants to take off the "armor" they’re forced to wear in everyday life, to discover the tenderness and the fragility in the danced gesture.
In the second phase the participants will work on the topic of border.
We are living in a time of big changes and redefinitions of borders, both geographical and emotional. One of the healthiest and most powerful way to react is to do creative acts.
This part of the workshop is based on structured improvisations and on progressive and detailed work always with the aim to highlight the subtle balance between movement, voice, emotion and intention.
