Where is the concept of skill situated in the dancer-actor's body? An active, suitable, expert, capable body... but in relation to what? From which place do we observe a body's skill? From what angle do we evaluate, judge, and emit verdicts? From the Latin etymology, "habilis" refers to someone or something that is "easy to hold in hand" and thus manageable, suitable, capable. But perhaps that notion of holding a body in hand says a lot about the drift of the terms with which we believe we define a field. I would like to talk about the limits, the divergences between different forms of feeling and acting in the theatrical realm; I would like to discuss all this starting from the experience captured in Piera Principe's diary, as a rare opportunity for awareness of the artistic process in our times.
