Stefano Tomassini (1966) has been working since 1988 with the theater company infidi lumi. His esoteric edition of Goldoni's "Il ventaglio" received the 2002 Prize from the National Association of Theater Critics. As a reciting voice, he recorded (in a world premiere for Ricordi) and performed live with the A. Toscanini Orchestra the cantata on Verdi themes by Azio Corghi, "La cetra appesa." In 1998, he curated, for the special project "L’altra scena. Aspetti di sperimentazione teatrale" at the Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the dramaturgical conception and direction of two works of contemporary musical theater: "Venetian Journal" by B. Maderna (from J. Boswell, for orchestra, tenor, and magnetic tape) and "Frau Frankenstein" by G. Battistelli (from M. Shelley's novel, for actress, orchestra, and live electronics), both in their absolute scenic premieres. In May of this year, he staged the contemporary opera "Ancora Werther e Carlotta" by Glauco Cataldo (from Thomas Mann's novel "Carlotta a Weimar") for the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza in 2003. He teaches contractually History of Dance and Critical-Literary Historiography of Dance at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, as well as Voice, Body, Text in Performance in the Master's program in Non-Verbal Languages and Performance at the Department of Philosophy and Sciences Theories of the same University. He has recently edited two volumes dedicated to Enzo Cosimi and Aurel Milloss and collaborates on publications for the Venice Biennale.
