Corpografie is a project developed through the collaboration with the etika solidarity fund, an initiative from the Trentino cooperative movement and Dolomiti Energia. By choosing an ethical energy offer, consumers not only receive direct benefits but also help create a social fund that supports projects for minority and marginalized communities.
Running from 2024 to 2026, Corpografie involves several Trentino-based social cooperatives Impronte, CS4, La Rete, Gruppo 78, and Anffas Trentino and aims to strengthen the skills of social workers, promote the active participation of people with disabilities, and produce a performance that will tour across the region. The project brings together professional and amateur performers, with and without disabilities, while also focusing on making cultural spaces more accessible throughout the province.
The project unfolds in three phases. The first year focuses on training educators and social professionals through more than 100 hours of experiential workshops, led by artists, choreographers, and dancers experienced in inclusive practices. Training sessions include practical exercises involving the people supported by the cooperatives, allowing participants to experiment with new tools and approaches.
The second year centers on the creative process, involving people with disabilities in the production of an original performance, offering new opportunities for artistic expression and personal growth. In the third year, the project focuses on community engagement through the touring of the final show, aiming to raise public awareness on inclusion and accessibility beyond social care environments.
Corpografie also addresses physical and cultural accessibility by mapping performance venues and developing tools to ensure inclusive access, particularly for audiences with sensory disabilities and neurodivergent conditions.
The project involves a team of experienced professionals, including Antonio Viganò from Teatro La Ribalta, performer and choreographer Aristide Rontini, Gaia Germanà from MUVet, director Matteo Maffesanti from Elevator Bunker, and dancer and choreographer Susanna Recchia, previously involved with the UK-based inclusive dance company Candoco.
Corpografie creates a space where culture and social engagement meet, aiming to celebrate diversity, remove physical and cultural barriers, promote access to the arts, and empower people with disabilities to be active protagonists on stage and in society.
