What will our future be? We already know it is upon us because the planet's resources are being depleted much faster than we are allowing them time to regenerate. Belgian visionary architect Luc Schuiten believes that we have forgotten too quickly that we are first and foremost biological beings belonging to a planet that is itself living. That is why in the future he imagines new places to live, designed from the observation of large ecosystems such as coral reefs or primary forests, suggests solutions for public and private transport, proposes archiborescent forms of housing that can be realised immediately, and studies the future of cities such as Lyon, Brussels and São Paulo in a perspective that reaches the year 2100.
