Fabrizio Monteverde (1958) began as an actor and assistant director to Muzzi Loffredo for the show ‘un giorno Lucifero...’ presented at the XXII Spoleto Festival and at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan. He studied dance in Rome, at the Centro Professionale Danza Contemporanea (Professional Centre for Contemporary Dance), later perfecting himself by attending various stages in Italy and abroad. He danced in 81 in Pier'alli's show ‘Giulia round Giulia’, which participated in the Avignon festival, and in 82 with the Teatrodanza company in Rome.
He is currently artistic director of the Baltica company for which he choreographed:
‘Bene Mobile’ (83) a duet/performance inspired by a story by Alberto Savinio.
‘Bagni Acerbi’ (85) which participated in the Tendencias festival in Barcelona.
‘La boule de neige’ (85) inspired by Jean Cocteau's “Les enfants terribles”.
‘Barmoon’ (86) produced in collaboration with the Asti Teatro festival.
A falling dancer, stuck in time, reviews the plot and revises his childhood. A time that flows not necessarily forwards. A rebellious reality that swaps chords, distorts notes and fades voices. An imagined harmony.
A cure for love-sick ostriches.
A drama in the kitchen searching for laurels.
It all starts right after Ionesco's ‘Learning to Walk’ ballet; everything you (didn't) see happens right afterwards.
