‘La Peau et les Os’ is a danced play, pervaded by the imaginative melancholy of almost childlike emotions. The dreamy, atmospheric music was specially created for this piece by Hector Zazou. Gilles Marais (‘Pour la danse’) wrote of this ballet: ‘This dance vanishes before us, without a sound. It enters history. A new sentimental dance is born'.
After abandoning his studies in horticulture, Danile Larrieu began to devote himself to dance, quickly becoming one of the most remarkable representatives of new French dance. He has worked with Wes Howard, Anne Marie Reynaud and Regine Chopinot. In 1982, he founded the group ‘Astrakan’, with which he won second prize at the National Dance Competition in Bagnolet. He participated in the Montpellie, Arles, Chateauvallon and other festivals.
Daniel Larrieu's dance is characterised by the nonchalance and originality of his gestures, in the style of a comic strip, performed with a liveliness that sticks in the memory.
