L'Aimant. Poésie Verticale

Antoine Le Menestrel - Compagnie Lézards Bleus, L'Aimant. Poésie Verticale

Dancing on the facades of buildings with spectators following the vertical path of the performer from the street. Mixing the sporting potential of climbing with acrobatics, dance, street art, and theater. This is Antoine Le Menestrel, a French artist already known to the audience of Oriente Occidente, returning to the Festival in the year of the celebrations for the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death with a performance inspired by the tale of the Verona lovers.
In the role of an indefatigable Romeo, Antoine searches the houses, on the balconies, and among the shutters of Rovereto for his Juliet. Titled L’Aimant. Poésie verticale, Antoine/Romeo climbs on the ledges of the buildings with his bare hands, following his momentum of love inspired by the verses that Shakespeare entrusts to the young Montague in Act II, Scene 2 of his Romeo and Juliet: “With love's light wings did I o'er-perch these walls; For stony limits cannot hold love out, And what love can do that dares love attempt…” The residents of Rovereto will be amazed to see their city’s buildings transform into a possible theater and a dream of love. And especially the Juliets who lean out of the windows must be ready to welcome the wandering Romeo on the facades, always eager to offer a smile, present a rose, or perform a pirouette. Because, while searching for clues to find his Juliet, he rejoices in love with his body.
