Il corpo politico - Marinella Perroni

Meeting with Marinella Perroni

Marinella Perroni is the president of the Coordination of Italian Theologians, and the contribution to the day of the "political body" by a theologian (and a woman) who is very committed to issues concerning the body, as well as deeply aware of feminist thought, is important. University professor and author of various articles and essays (including Il discepolato delle donne nel Vangelo di Luca. Un contributo all’ecclesiologia neotestamentaria), Perrone starts from the idea that the cultural and religious tradition that we have behind us, both Greek and Jewish, has always taught us that we do not have a body, but rather "we are a body", both as individuals and as a community. History has modulated this awareness with different registers, ranging from zeroing to expropriation, from recognition to exaltation. The current insistence on individual subjectivity, Perrone argues, pushes us to ask ourselves if, and how, we can feel like a social body, a political body and an ecclesial body today.

Marinella Perroni is a Doctor of Philosophy and Theology. She teaches New Testament at the Pontifical Athenaeum of S. Anselmo in Rome, where he is an extraordinary professor. In addition to numerous articles and essays in journals and collective volumes, she has published l discepolato delle donne nel Vangelo di Luca. Un contributo all’ecclesiologia neotestamentaria, in Pontificio Athenaeo S. Anselmi, Rome 1995. She is President of the Coordination of Italian theologians.
