Ina Christel Johannessen, Forzen Songs | ph Sarah Melchiori

Ina Christel Johannessen has been a benchmark choreographer for the Norwegian dance scene since 1996 when she founded the Zero Visibility Corp. Restless, committed and ambiguous - in the sense that her work centres on opposites in order to challenge issues and people - in Frozen Songs she reflects on the fragile nature of the earth’s ecosystem. Against a background of cellophane sacks, images from the natural world and smoking chimneys, six dancers express their affective and biological struggle to survive, accompanied by the driving beat of the Belgian duo Stray Dog.
