Alberi tra paesaggio e figura - Incontro con Michelangelo Frammartino e Michael Jakob

Many years ago in the village of Satriano di Lucania some men used to cover themselves with ivy until they became unrecognizable; they were the romiti, tree men, the expression of an ancient tree cult, dating back to the Middle Ages.

They walked with a stick, to which a branch of butcher's broom or broom was tied, and knocked on the doors of houses to receive alms.

Over time the romito has become one mask among many, slowly forgotten by new generations. Michelangelo Frammartino will present excerpts from Trees, a cine-installation that plays with the past and the present. Through the camera, he transforms into reality something that had sunk into the non-material dimension of memory. From the past to the present, from fiction to reality, from the invisible to the visible, from memory to cinema, Trees breaks the dimension of time, giving birth to an infinite cycle.
