The Committee Is Appointed
The selection committee for the new Artistic Director of Oriente Occidente has been officially appointed. It brings together leading figures from the fields of performing arts and cultural management.
Among its members is Lanfranco Cis, founder of Oriente Occidente and its current Artistic Director, who contributes a deep knowledge of the organisation’s history and development.
He is joined by Francesca Manfrini, a professional working across cultural management and the performing arts, with a background in contemporary dance and a specialisation in production and project development. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Oriente Occidente and collaborates with emerging artistic organisations.
The committee also includes Brendan Keaney, an internationally recognised figure who transitioned from a career as a performer to leading major institutions in the UK, including over a decade at the helm of DanceEast. Awarded an OBE for services to dance, he brings extensive experience in cultural policy and sector development.
Valentina Marini completes the panel. She has been active in dance production for over thirty years and, in recent years, has focused on curatorial and programming work. She is Co-Director of Orbita | Spellbound National Centre for Dance Production, Artistic Director of the festival Fuori Programma, and President of Aidap-Federvivo Agis.
The committee also includes Tanguy Accart, a professional active in the European dance landscape, currently Associate Director at the Maison de la Danse in Lyon.
The committee will be responsible for reviewing applications and identifying the candidate best suited to lead Oriente Occidente into its next phase, ensuring continuity with its history while opening up new artistic perspectives.
The open call is addressed to individual candidates or teams of two with solid experience in the field of contemporary performing arts. Full details on how to apply, required documentation, selection criteria and financial conditions are available on the Work with us page.
