Verità manipolata, realtà aumentata

verita-manipolata-realtà-aumentata

Today we have entered the era of the so-called augmented reality, or augmented reality.

Already used in specific sectors of society, augmented reality has become a mass phenomenon only in the last two years thanks to augmented advertising communication campaigns published in newspapers or on the web and thanks to an ever-increasing number of applications for mobile phones, especially for iPhone. In this way it is possible not only to find and consult information relating to the place where we are – think for example of the search for services such as restaurants or hotels – but also to view images present on social networks, find interlocutors, play, create a fantastic reality using the real map of the city as a playing field.

What has happened that is irreversible in the theory and practice of optical image production?

This is what Olivo Barbieri and Francesco Ricci discuss.

Olivo Barbieri has been deepening his interest in photography since 1978, first focusing on artificial lighting in European and Eastern cities and, from the mid-Nineties, dedicating himself instead to landscapes often shot from a helicopter with a new technique that makes them appear like models. His photographs and films have been exhibited in major museums and festivals around the world.

He has published: Artificial Illuminations, Notfareast, The Waterfall Project, site specific_Milano09, site specific_Catania09, site specific_Firenze09, site specific_Genova09.

With him Francesco Ricci, communication expert and collaborator of internationally renowned photographers and artists.
