En

With ‘En’, Ko Murobushi manages a performance that is as rigorous in its use of the body as it is deliberately hermetic in its conceptual meanings. What he stages closely resembles a case of regression to origins. There is a man in a hat and mackintosh who, little by little, turns into a completely defenceless foetus and then, going back even further, becomes a four-legged fairy, an amoebic being, a primordial cell. All visualised with a dance of exasperating slowness, but always ennobled by a sacred control of movements that often makes it similar to the genesis of an evocative abstract work. Already presented last year in some European festivals, ‘En’ is presented in Rovereto in a new version.
