Democrazia del pubblico e democrazia del privato. Da politici ad attori, da cittadini a spettatori

A disenchanted but always sharp look at Italian society. On the paths it has taken. In particular those that link public and private: in roles, in places.

The squares where democracy was born are emptying and filling up, this time not to plead causes or support projects but only to say no. Politicians and the palace are changing the codes of communication and more and more characters are appearing who are able to transform themselves, to shed their skin to please admirers, friends and maybe even enemies. On this Italy that transforms citizens into spectators and politicians into real actors, Ilvo Diamanti has long been using his pen in lucid portraits in the newspaper La Repubblica and also talks about it at the Festival in a dialogue with the director of the newspaper L'Adige Pierangelo Giovanetti.

Full professor of Political Science, Diamanti teaches Political Communication at the University of Urbino and Régimes politiques comparées at the University Paris II Panthéon-Assas. After collaborating with Il Sole 24 Ore, since 2001 he has written the column Mappe for La Repubblica. Among his publications: La Lega. Geography, history and sociology of a new political subject, The evil of the North, Politique à l’italienne, The invisible generation, Maps of political Italy and Sillabario dei tempi tristi.
