A nomadic collective of performers, the Balletto Civile is unique on the Italian dance scene today. The company has been hostedseveral times by Oriente Occidente and this year returns with two new pieces. Ten dancers interpret Madre, a visionary performance which questions ancestral ties and the ability to free oneself from the chaos of one’s origins. The second piece, a solo performed by Michela Lucenti entitled Concerto fisico, is an investigation for body and voice where a furious musical narrative retells the story of fifteen years of the history of the Balletto Civile.
