"Chacun appelle" is a piece for four dancers and a pianist, created in 1983 in Paris, and subsequently performed at numerous festivals including Chateauvallon and Utrecht (Netherlands).
"Excellent dancers glide, dodge, trace lines in space, weave subtly suggested relationships, and then push them to the extreme. Playful and fragile dance. Each one calls, each one seeks in their own way. (...) Jacques Patarozzi, a former disciple of Pina Bausch, rediscovers his authentic, personal movement here." (Chantal Aubry - Liberation)
Jacques Patarozzi began dancing in 1967 with Gene Robinson. In 1970, in the United States, he joined Paul Sanasardo's company, where he created his first choreographies. He taught dance at various centers in the United States and became the artistic director of the Chamber Dance Company in Seattle in 1974. He returned to France in 1975 and the following year founded the company "La Main," with which he participated in numerous festivals. For two years (1977-78), he worked in Wuppertal with Pina Bausch. In the following years, he created works for the "Biennale de la danse de Val de Marne" and the Montpellier Festival.
