What happens when we abandon ourselves to our innermost instincts? What is our most animalistic face like? And where do we hide our pure bodies?
Sharp and sarcastic, Carlo Massari continues his narrative on the many facets of contemporary society with an elemental language, which opens itself up to investigating the subtle hazy border between the human and the bestial.
An associate artist of Oriente Occidente for the three-year period 21/23, the choreographer will share with the public three short passages from his work, which are set to develop into a performance and will eventually debut in the 2023 edition of the Festival.
In a world often characterised by a superficial search for glossy beauty, Metamorphosis turns the spotlight onto our imperfections. It investigates that moment when we no longer recognise ourselves and therefore cannot judge ourselves. It looks into the cracks that allow us to relate body and mind, nature and culture. With the conviction that it is precisely in these places that an idea of rebirth can be triggered.
A search for relational truth characterises the poetics of C&C and combines total imaginative openness and creative curiosity, capable of developing the abstract from the real and bringing the audience closer to the theatrical experience.
