People don't stop playing because they grow old; they grow old because they stop playing.
Un, due, tre stella! is an endless game, it's a reverse race where nobody truly wants to reach the end because "staying" is more fun, it's a collective physical action, made of rules and exceptions, of achievements and constant disorientation.
Un, due, tre stella! is a workshop, conceived and led by choreographer Carlo Massari, aimed at people over 70 years old. The protagonist is "play" as a metaphor for life, as medicine for being, as an approach to daily life.
The playful dimension, a foundational part of the culture of every civilization with both an educational and ritualistic component, is utilized by the choreographer to explore the physiological changes in the human body: what remains in our bodies of what we have experienced and played? How do culture and past experiences shape bodies? How does the body transform culture?
The study takes place through a series of collective meetings, alternating somatic practices with the collection and transmission of physical memories linked to the world of childhood in order to create an archive of actions.
Each participant is a protagonist, producer, and actor of the action in a space where it is possible to express oneself freely to rediscover listening, and dialogue.
