WELT

Every living creature acts to transform its space and make it a more suitable place for its own existence. We are therefore in a state of perpetual motion, producing continuous possibilities for adaptation that make our nature a form of trespassing and mixing.
Our anatomical and cultural make-up is a patchwork of backgrounds, visions, ideas coming from different ages and time horizons.
To ensure that this promiscuity can be preserved while maintaining the necessary oxygenation, it is essential to take care. Caring as a necessary attitude to activate processes of growth, coexistence, cohabitation and interconnection that produce an ecological dimension of thought.
Caring is an inclination, an unbalance towards the other. It is a compromise of verticality in order to "be with", to remain porous. To welcome, elaborate and project. To listen, make space and produce new geometries.
The vital impulse and the ability to activate unprecedented alliances, mixing and new rituals, continues to be for me an open and very necessary theme, especially in relation to the environmental and historical context we are facing, the climatic urgency and the changes in nature that certainly give us the task of constantly rethinking our forms of living and relating.
The training proposal includes a double practice, meeting dancers and amateurs in two different moments of the process.
With both groups we will proceed from an initial section of study of movement, processed as anatomical mapping and postural orientation, towards an evolution of the relationship with space and the construction of relationships in real time. The possibility of depositing gestures and tracing interchangeable and repeatable geometries becomes the poetic trace for a vital and generative common condition.

Who is the target group?
First working session (Friday and Saturday) open to dancers with a good technical knowledge of contemporary dance and prepared to improvisation and composing practice.

Second working session (Sunday) open to amateurs, teenagers and adults, even without dance experience, but united by the desire to experience the practice and study of movement and gesture, in a dimension that turns from the individual sphere to the choral one.

Simona Bertozzi
Choreographer and dancer, she lives in Bologna, where she graduated from Dams.  After studying artistic gymnastics and classical dance, she furthered her training in contemporary dance in Italy, France, Spain, Belgium and England. She has danced, among others, for Tòmas Aragay and Virgilio Sieni.
Since 2005 she has been involved in an authorial path of choreographic research and in 2008 she founded the Simona Bertozzi | Nexus Company.
In her works the language of the body is affected by the interpenetration of practices, thoughts and disciplines that make the creative act a multiform system aimed at measuring itself against contemporaneity.
Over the years her projects have been supported and hosted by important regional, Italian and European circuits, through co-productions and choreographic residencies.
In parallel to her creative activity, she also works on advanced training courses and collaborates with researchers and scholars in the performing arts.
In 2019 he won the Hystrio Corpo a Corpo Award and the ANCT (Associazione Nazionale Critici di Teatro) Award for the artistic and research path marked by rigour and radicality.
