Balletto Civile reinvents its language without renouncing the profound relationship between bodies, voices and space. The workshop proposed at Oriente Occidente Studio aims to make possible a formative and creative path within the research process of the company.
The goal is to listen to the other through physical contact. The company's methodology of creation will be the common ground on which to confront each other. It will be used to enable participants to acquire tools to stimulate their creativity and train it to be part of a collective project.
Michela Lucenti knows the work of the company of Pina Bausch through her dancers Beatrice Libonati and Jan Minarik. She attended the School of the Teatro Stabile di Genova and at the same time, she met the last phase of the research work of Jerzy Grotowski, through the teachings of Thomas Richards. In 2003, as a natural continuation of the experience of L'IMPASTO Comunità Teatrale Nomade, she founded Balletto Civile, a nomadic artistic project animated by a strong ethical tension. The team is characterised by the search for a total scenic language. It favours the interaction between theatre, dance, original live singing and the profound relationship between the performers.
The workshop is for professional dancers and dance students.
The choreographer will select the participants based on the CVs received.
