CO-PRODUCED BY ORIENTE OCCIDENTE

This is the third stage of the choreographer’s complex project inspired by Euripides: After the Trojan Women. In this working step called #Frontiera, Claudio Bernardo revisits the ancient Greek tragedy and the question of exile and in so doing reminds the viewer of Thierry Salmon’s illustrious theatrical precedent of 1988. From Salmon’s original creation, Bernardo borrows Giovanna Marini’s original soundtrack – songs and choirs in ancient Greek, vaguely liturgical and reminiscent of folk music – and some of the original protagonists who make up the company of nine performers on stage. A wake up call for the collective conscience of the savagery of today and of the past.
